Testimonial
I have worked with Alim Tunkara as a Case Manager for a client, whom Alim supported as a Neurorehabilitation Therapy Assistant. Alim’s input spanned the RC’s age range between 15 and 18+. Key challenges resulting from a severe ABI were high levels of executive functioning difficulties, oppositional defiance, anger and behaviour dysregulation, poor planning, and general engagement. Alim was able to use the knowledge and skills he had obtained during his MA in neuropsychiatry to sensitively gain the client's trust and support when previous support worker trials had failed. Alim demonstrated high levels of commitment to the client, participating in two supported independent living trials, one for 2 months and the follow-on one for 8 months. He continuously showed a high level of professionalism and ability to maintain meaningful support, managing many challenging situations with clear boundaries and assuring authority while modelling positive behaviours, which the client responded well to. I commend Alim for his intuitive professionalism.
