Amy Dooley

I am a hard working articulate and well-organised independent occupational therapist who is flexible and able to adapt to challenges when they arise.  I have worked across both public and private sectors on a clinical, managerial, and commercial level. I have a proven ability to devise treatment programmes that increase a client’s ability to carry out activities or occupations independently, and with more confidence.  I have experience of managing multiple caseloads, prioritising needs, and completing required administrative tasks.

I work with young people, adults, and older people with a range of severe and complex disabilities and injuries, both from a mental health and physical disability viewpoint.  The majority of my OT experience is within the community assessing for care packages, providing equipment and recommending housing adaptations.

I have worked independently since 2011 as a care and occupational therapy expert witness and more recently as a case manager.  I also continue to undertake clinical independent OT work.  I have current and recent experience of preparing written reports for the Court requiring a high level of clinical reasoning and justification.

I have undertaken expert witness training in terms of report writing and Courtroom skills.  I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and am a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists and the College of Occupational Therapists Specialist Section – Independent Practice (COTSSIP).
