I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1996. During my time in practice I gained a high level of clinical skill in the rehabilitation of adults with complex needs. I spent time across acute, rehabilitative and community settings. I have worked in Case Management since 2012 and I have extensive experience in meeting identifying and managing the needs of clients through multidisciplinary and multi-agency working. Cases have included complex ABI, spinal injuries, multiple orthopaedic and musculo-skeletal injuries. I have a good understanding of the litigation process and I have acted as a professional witness in court. I regularly receive instruction from both solicitors and insurers.

Skills and Experience
I have worked extensively with adults and children; within Case Management this includes regularly completing immediate needs assessments and managing cases with complex needs. As an Occupational Therapist I assessed and treated through goal based rehabilitation treatment programmes, care management, the prescription of equipment (including wheelchairs and seating) and major adaptations. I enjoyed working at the complex end of rehabilitation during my time at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability where I was a founding member of their Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) clinic, Compass. I have been regularly involved in the assessment and development of service provision including the co-ordination and development of an occupational therapy pilot project within Accident and Emergency at Charing Cross Hospital, where we secured funding for a permanent service. I was a participating author on a report to determine potential strategies for the development of a community based rehabilitation team within the Kensington and Chelsea Community Health Team.
I have developed outcome measures for goal based rehabilitation programmes and understand the importance of regularly reviewing the process to gain the most effective outcome for my clients.
I value being reliable and proactive. I have extensive skills in working as an advocate for my clients, as well as their families and carers to build a supportive, efficient and effective team around them.
I am committed to maintaining my professional development; I regularly attend conferences, training days and professional supervision.
